Zimmer and Hanzels Barbeque was founded in 2019 by Marcus Zimmer and Erik Hanzel, two friends united by their obsession with fire-cooked meat. After years of weekend pop-ups and street food markets, they opened their permanent smokehouse in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
Our philosophy is simple: source the best meat, use real wood, take your time, and never cut corners. Every brisket is smoked for 14 hours. Every sausage is made in-house. Every sauce is crafted from scratch.
We are not trying to be the biggest BBQ restaurant in Berlin. We are trying to be the best.
